'Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden?'

Cinematical Says: "While Morgan Spurlock may not actually answer the question of where, he actually tackles, with humor, probing wit and a certain grace, the much more important question of why." Full review

'Sugar'

Cinematical Says: "Despite its backdrop of baseball, 'Sugar' is more a coming-of-age tale than a sports movie, but the baseball scenes are incredibly shot; in fact, the entire film is just gorgeous, like a painting brought to life." Full review

'American Teen'

Cinematical Says: "If you're looking for a salacious expose of youth gone mad, you're out of luck. But if you're looking for an engaging, stylish and surprisingly smart piece of nonfiction entertainment, you're going to be completely won over." Full review

'Funny Games'

Cinematical Says: "Michael Haneke's remake of his own 'Funny Games' is a great movie. It's also a great film. It's also a great piece of commentary on film. It's hard to say which 'Funny Games' stirs up more -- your guts, or your brain." Full review

'The Wackness'

Cinematical Says: "Recommendable for Ben Kingsley's inspired performance and some surprisingly strong work from young Olivia Thirlby, this is a fine 85-minute comedy/drama that's stuck inside a too-large frame." Full review

'Good Dick'

Cinematical Says: "A brave distributor will show this fine little film some love ... It comes from a very sincere and heartfelt place, which makes the few 'uncomfortable' moments perfectly acceptable ... and frequently quite fascinating." Full review

'American Son'

Cinematical Says: "You'd be excused for feeling skeptical about Nick Cannon appearing in a serious drama about a Marine about to be shipped off to Iraq. But Cannon displays a remarkable talent for drama." Full review

'Roman Polanski'

Cinematical Says: "It brings us a heavily detailed and fascinating look inside the events surrounding the trial, while presenting a portrait of an injured artist who's wanted by law enforcement here in the States, yet desired around the globe." Full review

'Choke'

Cinematical Says: "It's really a film for the Chuck Palahniuk fans who've have been waiting years to see this book come to life. Those who didn't read the book, but loved 'Fight Club,' will dig the well-written voiceovers straight from the brain of Palahniuk himself." Full review

'Anvil! The Story of Anvil'

Cinematical Says: "It's not just better than you'd think that a documentary about a 30-year-old Canadian metal band led by friends in their 50s would be. It's better than most music documentaries. It's better than most documentaries, period." Full review

'Smart People'

Cinematical Says: The feature-film debut of award-winning commercial director Noam Murro, 'Smart People's' warm and winning script, by novelist Mark Poirier, is funny, yet never forced; rich, but always real.

'Phoebe in Wonderland'

Cinematical Says: "First time writer/director Daniel Barnz knocks it out of the park with 'Phoebe in Wonderland,' an imaginative, layered tale about a young girl (Elle Fanning) struggling to fit in and find her place." Full review

'The Great Buck Howard'

Cinematical Says: "Backed by a fantastic performance by John Malkovich -- 'Buck Howard' might be the most affectionate look back at old-school entertainment since Peter O'Toole boozed his way through 'My Favorite Year.'"
Full review

'Stranded'

Cinematical Says: "Gripping, moving, and superbly crafted, 'Stranded: I've Come From a Plane That Crashed on the Mountain' isn't just the story of how a group of young men chose to try and survive; it's the story of how a group of men had chosen to live." Full review

'What Just Happened?'

Cinematical Says: How many times will you get to Bruce Willis, Sean Penn and Robert De Niro work together? (And in a comedy, no less.) That combo alone is probably worth the price of admission -- or most definitely a DVD rental fee. Full review
