Meet the Characters from Pixar's 'Ratatouille'

Remy

Remy (voiced by comic actor Patton Oswalt) is a rat with gourmet taste. Our first thought? How, um, oh we'll just say it: disgusting! But if anyone can sell us on vermin in the kitchen, it's Pixar. We'd follow them anywhere ... even to a restaurant where a rodent wears a chef's hat.

More About the Movie

Linguini

Meet Linguini (voiced by Lou Romano), the former garbage boy who becomes a hit chef by bringing a rat into the kitchen of Gusteau's, the four-star French restaurant founded by legendary chef Auguste Gusteau. Thanks a lot, Linguini.

Collette

Here's Collette (voiced by comic actress Janeane Garofalo), the only woman in the kitchen of Gusteau's -- and Linguini's crush. Unfortunately for him, she's been assigned to watch over him as he makes a name for himself as a chef (riding Remy's coattails, or just his tail, really). This does not please her.

Django

Remy's dad Django (voiced by Brian Dennehy) is exasperated by his gourmand son -- and what rat father wouldn't be? How do you tell your friends and neighbors that your son has run off to cook in a high-class restaurant? Oh, the shame, the shame.

August Gusteau

Remy's hero, the acclaimed chef Auguste Gusteau (voiced by 'Everybody Loves Raymond' star Brad Garrett), often appears to Remy in his dreams -- especially his daydreams. Gusteau continues to inspire from beyond the grave. Oooh, spooky. But somehow not.

Emile

Emile (voiced by Peter Sohn) is Remy's brother, a good-natured, easygoing rodent who just wants what every rat wants -- good food. And by good, we mean "plentiful" ... and if that mess o' meals comes from the garbage, well so what? That's no skin off his nose (especially if no rat traps are involved).

Skinner

The current top chef at Gusteau's is Skinner (voiced by Brit Ian Holm), who was sous chef to Gusteau when he was alive, and took control following Gusteau's untimely demise. Skinner just cares about money -- witness the seemingly endless line of Gusteau-branded merch (insert Martha Stewart joke here).

Anton Ego

Anton Ego (voiced by the legendary British actor Peter O'Toole) is a dour, humorless food critic, whose reviews can make or break a restaurant. We're sure his nickname "the Grim Eater" and the fact that Gusteau died mysteriously after Ego downgraded him from five stars to four are just a coincidence.

Remy and Linguini

Why is this man smiling while holding a rat in his palms? Does he not know that he is, in fact, cupping a reviled rodent in his own two hands? Linguini owes his entire career to Remy, that's why.

Remy and Linguini, Part Deux

And here is how they pull it off -- Remy hides under Linguini's hat and directs his actions from his perch atop his protege's head. Wouldn't that be just completely creepy, having a live, crawly rat in your hair? Just sayin'.

Remy = Next Top Chef?

Our hero, Remy, wants more than anything to be a chef in an upper-crust restaurant. Will he be able to pull it off for long, or will his and Linguini's ruse be discovered? Guess you'll have to watch the movie to get the answer to that one.
